This thread is for posting any images that look like faces, animals, plants or anything you think has an interesting shape.
Humans are very good at pattern matching, probably due to evolution (it’s rather handy being able to distinguish the face of a tiger hiding in the undergrowth waiting to pounce on passers-by!).
This ability to find patterns in the environment is called  Pareidolia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pareidolia) and/or Apophenia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apophenia).

Here are some examples from the forum, in no particular order.

The face in the white crater, posted by Half65 25 July 2010, shows how little is required to create an image of a human face.

The following face was posted by ElisabethB, 29 June 2010 in the Interesting terrain thread. I have rotated the image into ‘portrait’ mode!

In the following image, I see a sea-horse on the right and a bearded man at the bottom left.

I found these marvelous flat critters. I can't imagine what could cause them. Does anyone know?

I’m sure that there are many more faces, animals, plants and other exotic things to find in the images we get to analyse. Post them here with a description of what you see.

This needed to be mentioned here.

I think this is a faux Ina-like formation and looks like a lunar whale. Quite interesting though!  Located southeast of Maclear crater.

Hmm - I think the (Michael) Jackson crater is a smaller affair on the near side (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/michael-jackson/5784734/Moon-crater-named-after-Michael-Jackson.html). Formerly known as Posidonius J (and still is by the IAU (http://planetarynames.wr.usgs.gov/Feature/12289)) ;)

My guess would be a very low angle impact. You can see the big ejecta exclusion zones front and back. However, I have never seen this kind of rim shape before....

As the images are taken from NAC (Narrow Angle Camera) images it"ll be one of these (http://forum.moonzoo.org/index.php?topic=7.0) methods. Just looked at the image info and placidstorm uses photobucket to store his images.

Hello to all. This is my first posting.

Footprints perhaps?  Or just boulder trail impressions, marks from the camera lens, angle etc.

I am really interested to find out what they are.
