lighting or weird crater?
« on: May 28, 2010, 09:24:35 AM »
Hello everyone, I'm wondering about the crater in the lower right corner of this image.

Is it just the lighting and/or angle in the image that makes it look rather elongated and irregular?

Hi Peek - welcome to the Moon! :) You're right some of the south pole images can be quite difficult to interpret. I think what you have bottom right is a ridge rather than an odd crater and the dark bit is in shadow.

Do you irregulars too?

Go out and point your camera up!

Thanks jules! Too bad you can't edit your classifications. I set it as a crater, a very elongated one.
I was on the GZ forums over a year ago, and it's cool to see names from there also being here...  ;D

That's the beauty of having lots of people classifying the same image - the majority will rule!
And yes - you'll find one or two familiar names over here!
Welcome back Peek! :)
