AstroFest 2012
« on: October 24, 2011, 08:21:03 am »
Each year in February an astronomical festival called AstroFest is held in Kensington, London. Every year since 2008 a group of people from Galaxy Zoo have attended and we always have a great time, attending lectures, chatting outside, going to the pub for lunch and a restaurant in the evenings.

If you want to join us, put the 10th and 11th of February 2012 in your diary and keep a watch on the AstroFest web site for announcements: AstroFest

Hanny will be giving one of the talks at the festival!

For more information and to see who else is going, check out the Galaxy Zoo forum: AstroFest 2012

If you're interested in attending you can post in this thread and I will let Hanny know.

The festival covers two days and you can buy tickets for four sessions, morning and afternoon sessions on each day. A ticket for one session is £15 and there is a discount if you go to multiple sessions.
If you go to the AstroFest site and click on Tickets it gives the details.

I usually go to the two afternoon sessions but it depends on which speakers are on for the different sessions.

Once the speakers and lectures are confirmed I'll decide which ones I'm going to. The final session is always worth going to as Patrick Moore usually gives a talk.

Hope you can maker it!

If you don't want to go to the talks it's £5 to get into the exhibition. Here's a list of exhibitors. Lots of shiny goodies! There's likely to be a meal arranged too for those zoo people who want to go. It's fun. We're nice! ;D
