Essay; Disaster Never Came
« on: November 23, 2011, 07:11:22 PM »
Quote
''Fate has ordained,'' a saddened President was prepared to say, ''that the men who went to the moon to explore in peace will stay to rest in peace.''

That was the opening line of a speech to the nation that I drafted for Richard Nixon 30 years ago this week, as Apollo XI was about to land on the moon.

Better be prepared though :) I wonder if there will ever be a mission to the moon again in my lifetime, other than one to mars which seems decades away too.

Welcome to Moon Zoo davomills! I would love there to be more manned missions but I think robotic missions are much more likely now. They are much more cost effective. I was lucky enough to grow up with the Apollo programme when manned missions seemed commonplace. I wonder when the next generation of kids will be able to say that.

Do you irregulars too?

Go out and point your camera up!

I am new to this forum but found it so interesting that I feel tempted to visit it again. The people who has got enough ambitions to go to the moon must be very adventurous in their life.
