small chain?
« on: June 03, 2012, 04:26:59 PM »
On AMZ1003hzm, I noted a small feature as "Interesting/ elongate pit", but might it be a short 2- or 3-crater chain?  Hard to tell at this resolution.  Where is the right thread to report this in?

On AMZ1003ht6, I noticed, but did not mark, in the lower center 4 craters near bottom center  ...near one is what I thought could be a lava tube due to its' sharply defined circular shape, very dark inside and no clear crater...also, there are no rays and no boulders.  Could this be a lave tube, and where should that be reported?

Can you post links to the images so we can see?

KM is right - we like links - and pictures! :D Your images should still be in recents (or favourites) but to save you digging them out here's the first:

AMZ1003hzm

Doesn't look like a crater chain to me but I might have marked it as an elongated crater. You're right - better resolution woudl be good. Crater Questions is probably the best place for this kind of question. :)

And the image:

I see the small dark "mark" which I think is a crater. The sun angle is very low at -90.23 so crater rays will not show up - you need an overhead Sun for that. Also lava tubes (or rilles) are long features so I wonder if you mean a skylight which would be a good thread to post this in. I don't think this is an example - but again a better resolution image would tell us for sure.

Go out and point your camera up!
